Miserere

Vous savez combien la Chorale Saint-Jean aime vous surprendre. Le prochain concert ne fera certainement pas exception! La pierre d’angle sera le majestueux Miserere de Gregorio Allegri, cette œuvre magique avec tous les contre Do (high C) qui reviennent pour la soprano; pièce que le Pape a trouvé si belle qu’il a défendu qu’elle soit chantée ailleurs que dans sa chapelle pendant plus d’un siècle. Nous ajoutons à ceci le Chant du destin de Brahms (Schicksalslied) et les Six chansons de Hindemith avant de terminer avec des pièces folkloriques et populaires des plus amusantes. Accompagnée par Jeremy Spurgeon au piano et Jacques Forestier au violon, la Chorale Saint-Jean vous invite à cette soirée musicale mémorable.

Miserere

Chorale Saint-Jean loves to entertain its audiences with musical variety and its next concert is certainly no exception. The cornerstone will be the majestic and mysterious Miserere mei, Deus by Gregorio Allegri. It is said that the Pope found this magical work, with all of its high C’s returning for the soprano, so beautiful that he prohibited its performance anywhere other than in his chapel, a ban that held for more than a century. We add to this Brahms' epic Song of Destiny (Schicksalslied) and Hindemith's Six chansons before finishing with some enchanting new French folk song arrangements. Accompanied by Jeremy Spurgeon at the piano and Jacques Forestier on the violin, Chorale Saint-Jean invites you to this memorable musical evening.
